The Court of Instruction number three of San Bartolomé de Tirajana (Las Palmas) notified in past days the order that declares the opening of oral trial to the four soccer players allegedly involved in the recording and/or non-consented dissemination of videos of sexual content that affect a minor and another young woman, while the majority of them were in a private space inside a beach club in the south of the island of Gran Canaria.
The order, dated September 2, 2025, is not susceptible to appeal (it would only be in regards to the personal situation of the investigated, if any of them were deprived of freedom, which is not the case).
The judicial resolution requires the investigated to provide bail within 24 hours, three of them for a value of 20,000 euros each and the fourth, against whom a more lenient accusation is directed (only dissemination of videos), for an amount of 15,000 euros, with warning of seizure of assets in case of non-payment.
As detailed in the order, the Public Prosecutor's Office charges two of the investigated with a crime of distribution of child pornography of article 189.1 a) of the Penal Code in ideal competition with two crimes against privacy of article 197.1,3 sections 1 and 5; the third, of a crime of distribution of child pornography of article 189.1 a) of the Penal Code in ideal competition with two crimes against privacy of article 197.1.3 sections 2 and 5 of the Penal Code, and the fourth, two crimes against privacy in competition ideal of article 197.1.3 section 2 and 5 of the Penal Code.
The two victims have also filed charges against the soccer players, although one of them only in reference to the first three.
One of the victims withdrew the accusation against the Real Madrid player Raúl Asencio, after he acknowledged that he committed "the mistake" of showing a friend in 2023 a sexual video recorded without consent by his then teammates from the youth academy Ferrán Ruiz, Juan Rodríguez and Andrés García.
