The Madrid campus of the prestigious cooking school Le Cordon Bleu has published on its Facebook page the video recipes of the 50 students from all over Spain who are competing for the 14th High Cuisine Promises Award.
Among them are **two students from Lanzarote** from CIFP Zonzamas: **Eire Palacios** Herrero ("Partridge possessed by the Lanzarote volcano") and **Gabriel Navarro** Oliveros (“Partridge in red wine”)
To be selected among the ten finalists, public voting has opened for people to vote for their favorite video recipes.
In the video recipes, with a maximum duration of 5 minutes, students demonstrate their culinary and creative skills with a dish made from a common proposal: Stuffed quail and soufflé potatoes, with a free sauce and garnish chosen by the candidate.
This way, they also have the opportunity to develop their creativity with products of their own choosing, especially valued if they are typical of their regions and in season.
The votes obtained through the social network will constitute 15% of the participants' evaluation, and will be added to the votes of the professional jury, composed of chef professors from the School.
The voting period will be open until February 20. Subsequently, on February 23, Le Cordon Bleu Madrid will announce the 10 finalists who will participate in the grand finale at its Madrid campus on April 14.
The finalists will have to present their dish in front of a professional jury, which in its last edition was chaired by chef Javier Olleros, chef of the Culler de Pau restaurant (Pontevedra), distinguished with 2 Michelin stars and 3 Repsol suns.
In previous editions, the jury has been presided over by other national gastronomy celebrities, such as Eduard Xatruch, Nacho Manzano, Jesús Sánchez, Joan Roca, Diego Guerrero, Martín Berasategui, or Andoni Luis Aduriz.
Three other Canarian students have also qualified for this phase: Hacomar Arteaga Hernández, from CIFP San Sebastián de la Gomera; Jeremy Rodríguez Moreno, from IES Punta Larga; and Nauzet Domínguez Hernández, from Hecansa Hotel Escuela Santa Cruz.
A total of 30 schools from across the country, spread across 20 provinces nationwide, are represented in this stage of the competition.
