The Canarian Employment Service (SCE) has abolished the fees that citizens had to pay until now to obtain professional certificates and for the accreditation of units of competence. "The measure represents a significant advance in the democratization of access to official training and in the improvement of employability in the archipelago".The decision, in effect since last January 1st, establishes that it will no longer be necessary to make any economic disbursement to request a professional certificate nor for the procedure of accreditation of units of competence. The measure is definitive and indefinite and is consolidated as one of the pillars of active employment policies in the islands

The director of the SCE, María Teresa Ortega, highlights the social relevance of this initiative since "with this measure an economic barrier is eliminated that directly affected working people, especially those in the process of professional retraining and groups with greater difficulties in labor insertion".

In addition, Ortega emphasizes that this gratuity guarantees that "professional improvement does not depend on each person's economic resources, but on the will to learn and access a job in accordance with the certified training".

Professional certificates are official qualifications that accredit the knowledge and skills necessary for the performance of a specific profession. Obtaining them is a key tool for those seeking employment and wishing to improve their current work situation or redirect their career towards other sectors.

The elimination of fees simplifies administrative procedures and streamlines the system, making it more accessible and reducing the burden of paperwork for users.
