The Ministry of Finance, Budgets and European Affairs has announced five training scholarships in European affairs for 2023. Three of them are for postgraduate studies and the remaining two will be used to carry out internships at the Delegation of the Government of the Canary Islands in Brussels.
The Canarian Vice-President and Minister of Finance, Budgets and European Affairs, Román Rodríguez, stressed that the total amount of the scholarships "amounts to 100,000 euros and those interested in accessing one of these scholarships may submit their applications until November 21. To do so, they must have the nationality of any member state of the European Union and have their residence established in the Canary Islands in the last four years. They must also have obtained an official university degree, or one approved by the Ministry responsible for education, in the five years prior to this call for applications."
The call for applications for these scholarships is published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) of October 25. Registration will be done exclusively through the electronic headquarters of the Government of the Canary Islands.
Postgraduate studies and internships at the Canarian delegation in Brussels
One of the academic training scholarships is endowed with 27,000 euros to finance postgraduate studies at any of the headquarters of the College of Europe in Bruges or Natolin, provided that those interested have previously submitted their application to this academic institution.
The other two postgraduate scholarships have an allocation of 15,500 euros each and may be used to finance studies at any other European center outside of Spain. In the event that none of the candidates are admitted to the College of Europe, three scholarships of 19,333 euros each would be awarded.
The postgraduate studies that may be taken with these scholarships must be on European affairs in the legal, economic or institutional fields. They must be carried out, in person, at official or approved universities and academic institutions located outside the national territory and within the European Union, and must be taught, mostly, in English, French or both languages.
The call includes two scholarships to do internships at the Delegation of the Government of the Canary Islands in Brussels. This modality will be developed for one year and each of the two scholarships offered will have an endowment of 21,000 euros. This practical training will involve the effective displacement of the beneficiary to the place of destination. In this sense, it should be noted that, during this period of internship, the beneficiary will perform the tasks assigned to him/her, which will involve the development of actions in Spanish, French and English.
