The Government of the Canary Islands has launched its first cooperative digital marketing platform, so that SMEs and self-employed workers in the tourism subsector on the islands can create their own digital stores.

"The objective of these actions is to go look for tourists in their places of origin, whether in the Iberian Peninsula or the European continent," explained the president of Activa Canarias, José Luis Echevarría. "To do this, we have created a cooperative digital marketing platform where we give tourists the possibility to buy their experiences before arriving on the islands. Now many of these activities are subsidized free of charge in the #descubrecanarias store, and with discount codes of up to 100 euros in the rest of the stores".

In collaboration with the Business Association of Active Tourism of the Canary Islands, Activa Canarias, the first part of this project saw the light last week on the popular Callao screens, in Madrid, which have witnessed the staging of the campaign at a national and international level of the Active Tourism Reactivation Plan in the Canary Islands.

This campaign will integrate several actions, with its central axis being the projection of an extract from the Plan's spot on the Callao screens, the most visited square in Spain, with around 150 million people a year, the center of Madrid.

This will be complemented by an international campaign on social networks in English, French, German and Italian, four of the most important issuing markets for tourists to the Canary Islands, according to Promotur data. The forecast is to reach more than 100,000 people, who will have the possibility of knowing the platform and being able to book at origin.

Likewise, the Business Association also wanted to celebrate the publication of a report that highlights Active Tourism in the islands in the Viajes National Geographic magazine.

The popular magazine takes a tour island by island, discovers activities present in the Marketplace ecoactivacanarias.com, combined with historical enclaves of each one, in order to complete a first-class experience.
