The arrival of tourists continues to grow: Lanzarote Airport registers more than 688,000 passengers in May

In total, the Canary Islands aerodromes recorded a total of 4,109,173 passengers during the month of May

César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport registered last May 688,717 passengers, 3.7% more than in the same month of 2024, making it the third busiest airport in the Canary Islands.

The airports of the Canary Islands recorded a total of 4,109,173 passengers during the month of May, 4.4% more than in the same month of 2024. Of the total number of travelers registered, 4,094,585 correspond to passengers on commercial flights, of which 1,927,859 traveled on domestic flights, 5.7% more than in May of last year, and 2,166,726 on international flights, 3.4% more than in the same month of 2024.

In addition, 38,353 aircraft movements were managed, 4.2% more, and 2,712 tons of goods were transported, -0.9% less than in May of last year.

 

Traffic by airports

Gran Canaria Airport registered the highest number of passengers with 1,157,213, which represents an increase of 5.7% compared to May 2024. It is followed by Tenerife South Airport, with 986,014 passengers and an increase of 1%; César Manrique-Lanzarote, with 688,717 passengers (+3.7%); Tenerife Norte- Ciudad de La Laguna, with 612,573 (+6.6%); Fuerteventura, with 511,110 (+8.4%); La Palma, with 117,381 (-0.1%); El Hierro, with 24,825 (-2.3%); and, La Gomera, with 11,340 passengers (+12.9%).

 

Accumulated January-May

So far this year, the Canary Islands airports have registered 22,842,734 travelers, 4.8% more than in the same period of 2024. Of the 22,715,450 commercial passengers, 8,714,060 traveled on domestic flights, 4.8% more, and 14,001,390 did so on international flights, 5.1% more than accumulated in the same period of 2024.

From January to May 2025, 202,803 aircraft movements were managed, 5.3% more than in the past year, and 13,273 tons of goods transported were registered, -3.3% less than in 2024.
