SICTED TOURISM QUALITY CERTIFICATIONS (34)

The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote, presented this Wednesday the SICTED (Comprehensive System of Spanish Tourist Quality in Destinations) distinctions to 40 tourist establishments and services that have demonstrated their commitment to excellence and continuous improvement in visitor care.

During the event, held in the plenary hall of the Cabildo, the CEO of SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote, Héctor Fernández, accompanied by the general director of Infrastructure, Sustainability and Tourist Quality of the Government of the Canary Islands, Héctor Mateo Castañeyra - together with authorities of the Cabildo and representatives of the sector - highlighted the importance of this recognition to consolidate Lanzarote as a benchmark destination in tourist quality.

Of the 40 recognitions awarded, five have been granted to companies and services that are joining the system for the first time: SBH Royal Mónica, GESCAV, Canary Shuttle and two Aloe Plus stores. In addition, another 35 establishments and services have renewed their distinction, reaffirming their commitment to quality and compliance with the standards required by SICTED.

Currently, the SICTED Lanzarote Destination has 92 distinguished tourist establishments and services, and a total of 112 tourist services are part of the system's management platform.

A recognition of the professionalization of the sector

With this delivery of distinctions, Lanzarote reaffirms its leadership in the implementation of tourist quality systems, promoting a destination model that not only attracts visitors, but also guarantees a high-level experience.

“Lanzarote not only offers a unique natural environment, but also a professional and committed tourism industry. And these distinctions are a reflection of the effort of the business community and labor personnel of the sector to guarantee an exceptional experience to those who visit us,” said the CEO of the Society for Foreign Promotion.

In that sense, the general director of Infrastructure, Sustainability and Tourist Quality of the Government of the Canary Islands, Héctor Mateo Castañeyra, stressed the fundamental role of training and continuous improvement in the tourism sector: “Tourism is our main industry, and the level of excellence achieved by the professionals of Lanzarote is a guarantee for the future. Betting on quality is not an option, but a constant commitment that differentiates us.”
