Between January and September, 1.26 million British tourists have landed in Lanzarote, according to data published by the Lanzarote Data Center based on the Tourist Movement Statistics of the ISTAC.
That's 147,010 more people who arrived from the United Kingdom this year compared to those who landed in the same period of 2023.
Around 140,000 travelers per month land on the island of Lanzarote from the United Kingdom, a very regular figure, regardless of the month being analyzed. Specifically, this year the range of arrivals ranges from 125,000 who arrived in January to 158,000 in March.
In other words, this year has added to last year's figures, the equivalent of an entire month of arrivals from the United Kingdom.
To give an idea of the magnitude of the growth, there is another interesting variable. The tourists arriving this year until September, regardless of nationality, are 164,628 more than last year. That is, 89.2% of the growth is due to the British market.
The data matches the increases in flights from Lanzarote with this country. In the summer season of this year, 30 new frequencies were added with the United Kingdom compared to last year, reaching a total of 185.
For the winter, there has also been a marked increase in flights with the United Kingdom, 11 more frequencies, so the island country is about to reach 200 weekly flights with Lanzarote.
