The occupancy of hotel places in Lanzarote remained at 79.4% in July, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE) in its latest survey on the matter.

However, it was the highest occupancy in the Canary Islands, followed by Tenerife (77.5%) and Gran Canaria (76.6%). In Fuerteventura it remained at 73.3%.

Lanzarote's hotel rates increased by 9.3% to 139.75 euros compared to July last year, but they ceased to be the highest in the Canary Islands as they had been in July last year and moved to second place.

Tenerife's hotel rates were the highest in July of this year, after rising 15% compared to last year to an average of 142.9 euros per night.

The average rate of hotels in Lanzarote did not grow as much as that of Tenerife this year, mainly due to the "freezing" of prices in the hotels of Tías, where the average rate rose by only 0.8% compared to last year to 131, 9 euros.

On the other hand, the hotels in Yaiza increased their rates by 13.8% to 160.6 euros per night and those in Teguise by 14.8% to 116 euros.
