For next August, flight searches to Spain from Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, and also within the national territory have increased by 8% compared to last year, and hotel searches by 9%, according to data provided by the flight and hotel search engine jetcost.com.
A good part of the Europeans who have decided to travel in August will come to Spain, and a large majority has chosen the Canary Islands.
According to Jetcost, the islands with the most reservations are Tenerife and Gran Canaria, but the island of Fuerteventura is also gaining positions, while Lanzarote is in fourth place.
Tenerife is the most requested by Italian and peninsular travelers, the fourth by the British, the fifth by the Germans and French, and the seventh by the Dutch and Portuguese.
For its part, Gran Canaria is the second destination for peninsular Spaniards, the sixth most searched for by French, the seventh by Italians, the eighth by Dutch and Portuguese, the ninth by Germans, and the fourteenth by British.
Fuerteventura is in fifth place for Italians, sixth for Germans, tenth for Portuguese, 12th for peninsular Spaniards, British and French, and 15th for Dutch.
Meanwhile, Lanzarote is in fourth place for peninsular Spaniards, sixth for British, 12th for Italians, 13th for French and Portuguese, 16th for Germans, and 17th for Dutch.
