Rental car reservations in Lanzarote for this Easter are 35% cheaper than in the same period last year, according to the analysis of the travel search portal Kayak, which allows its users to compare and book flights, hotels, rental cars and vacation packages from hundreds of providers at once.
The price reduction in rentacar businesses is a trend that the portal has detected both nationally and internationally. The set of car reservations for this Easter in worldwide is 19% below the prices that were charged in the Easter holidays of 2022.
In Spain, other destinations stand out with large discounts compared to last year, such as Tenerife, where the average is 29% below 2022 prices, or Mallorca, where renting a car for Easter is being charged 46% below the average cost last year.
Internationally, Kayak has detected large discounts in Morocco and United States for renting a car.
These data seem to indicate that many of the problems detected in the automotive sector last year have been solved. Among them, the shortage of vehicles to rent in 2022 due to the lack of new models produced by the lack of microchips and other supplies derived from the pandemic and the war in Ukraine.
