The most read newspaper in the United Kingdom, Metro, with a million daily readers, publishes an article whose headline announces more direct air connections from England to "a Canary Island less known than Lanzarote".

This is La Palma, which it describes as “secret” and highlights its "wooded terrain, narrow cobblestone streets, and an ocean of sparkling turquoise waters”.

The new flights referred to in the article will depart from Manchester and London Stansted and will be operated by Jet2.

The first of the two new direct connections from the United Kingdom to La Palma will begin on April 3, 2026, with two weekly flights on Mondays and Fridays. Flights from Stansted will start on October 26, 2026.

Thus, La Palma joins Jet2's direct connections with Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, and Tenerife.

Jet2 accompanies the new flights with offers at various hotels on the beautiful island with between 2 and 4 stars.

Steve Heapy, the airline's CEO, stated: "The launch of La Palma offers tourists and independent travel agents the opportunity to enjoy everything this incredible island has to offer".

"We are pleased to expand our presence in the Canary Islands from London Stansted and Manchester airports by adding this new gateway to our offering, appealing to tourists who wish to explore the natural beauty of the island".

"We are confident that these new flights and holidays will be very popular among customers looking for an adventure holiday, accompanied by spectacular landscapes".
