Belgian tourism to Lanzarote increases almost 60% in the last decade

Belgian tourists spend 164 euros more than the average, most repeat and one in 4 has traveled to the islands more than ten times

Last year, 50,372 Belgian tourists arrived in Lanzarote, 58.1% more than arrived ten years ago, when there were 29,310 arrivals.

Each Belgian tourist in the Canary Islands spends 1,478 euros per stay, 164 euros more than the average. In addition, 69% are repeaters and 23% have traveled to the islands more than ten times.

Lanzarote's connectivity with Belgium for this winter increases compared to last year by an additional connection each week up to 8 in total.

The airlines Brusels Airlines and TUI fly Belgium offer two weekly connections from the Belgian capital each, while Ryanair has another four from Charleroi, one more than last winter.

All of this represents a weekly capacity of 1,515 travelers per week.

Connectivity with Belgium for the archipelago as a whole also increases, with regular scheduled airline seats amounting to 228,587, which is 6% above the previous winter and 23% higher than the pre-pandemic year.
