The Armas Trasmediterránea group and the environmental organization Oceánidas (oceanidas.org) will carry out this Saturday a cleaning action on Quemada beach, in the municipality of Yaiza, as well as its seabed.
The initiative, which will take place from 09:00, is part of the collaboration agreement between both entities for the conservation of the marine ecosystem. The cleaning day will have the participation of volunteers from the Lanzarote Underwater Activities Club (CAS).
Armas Trasmediterránea and Oceánidas, an organization with almost a decade of experience in the conservation of the marine ecosystem internationally, will carry out beach and seabed cleanings in other parts of the islands such as the port of Vueltas in La Gomera or Las Teresitas beach in Tenerife. In addition, they will carry out cleaning actions on Benítez beach, located in Ceuta, and in the La Ballenera area, in Algeciras.
In parallel, they will also promote other projects such as the launch of environmental awareness classrooms on Armas Trasmediterránea ships or the days to revalue the diversity and natural wealth of the Natural Park of the Strait, among other actions.
Armas Trasmediterránea carries out various actions throughout the year to reduce its environmental footprint and CO2 emissions. These actions include the adoption of energy efficiency measures, the use of biofuels and fluoropolymer paints on the hulls of all its ships, as well as other innovative initiatives to protect the environment.
