Home sales fall 20% in the Canary Islands compared to last year

Nationally, the drop in home sales has been 11%, the worst October figure since 2019

The sale of homes registered in October in the Canary Islands registered a year-on-year decrease of 20.5%, the third highest in the country, according to data released this Friday by the INE.

In total, there were 1,736 home sales recorded in the islands in the tenth month of this year, at a rate of 94 per 100,000 inhabitants.

Of all of them, 1,661 were free homes, 75 protected, 408 new and 1,328 used.

The transmitted properties registered in the registries were 5,218, which represents a year-on-year decrease of 5.8%, which represented 282 per 100,000 inhabitants.

Of the 5,218 properties registered in the registries, 676 were rustic and 2,803 urban, of which 255 were building plots.

Nationally, the drop has been 11.1%. 45,903 operations were closed in the month, the worst October figure since 2019, but higher than the 44,086 in September.
