The number of long-term rental properties is very small in Lanzarote and there are a lot of people looking for a rental apartment on the island.
The problem is so pressing that Arrecife has become the Spanish municipality with the most people competing for each rental property ad that is published, according to a study published by the real estate portal Idealista.com.
Each property that comes on the market in the island's capital has an average of 126 interested parties in renting it. Next, also above 100 requests per property are two municipalities on the outskirts of Madrid: Leganés with 111 and Fuenlabrada with 104.
For the realization of this study, only municipalities with more than 5,000 inhabitants and that have had a minimum sample of 50 ads during the analysis period have been analyzed.
In fourth position is the Barcelona municipality of Santa Coloma de Gramenet, with 102 users per property. Just below 100 people are two other municipalities in Madrid, Getafe, where 96 interested parties compete on average for each property, and Parla with 93.
In seventh position is the first municipality of Castilla-La Mancha, but it borders the Community of Madrid. This is Azuqueca de Henares, in Guadalajara, where each rental on the market receives contacts from 87 citizens.
The eighth place is, in this ranking, for the Madrid municipality of Pinto, with 83 families competing for each rental property, followed by Cornellà de Llobregat in Barcelona and Alcorcón in Madrid, which share a rate of 77 interested parties in each ad.
In addition to the aforementioned locations in the Canary Islands, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia and Madrid, the maximum volume of interested people is very high in the Valencian Community (with the Valencian municipality of Aldaia with 75 people) and the Basque Country (with Vitoria with 70 people).
They are closely followed by Navarra (Barañain with 69 people) and the Balearic Islands (Inca with 54 people). Below 50 people in their municipality with the highest tension are Aragon (Zaragoza with 38 people), Murcia (Los Alcázares with 36 people), Andalusia (Camas with 35 people), Galicia (A Coruña with 27 people) and La Rioja (Logroño with 27 people).
The other 3 communities whose municipality with the most potential tenants interested in renting are Asturias (Gijón with 22 people), Cantabria (Camargo with 21 people) and Extremadura (Mérida with 10 people).
