The Canary Islands Government has just published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) the bases of the call for the program 'Aporta SMEs non-capital islands' for 2025 whose objective is to support internationalization with aid for a total value of 400,000 euros.
The deadline to submit applications opens this Monday, April 14 and will end on May 13.
The objective of the General Directorate of Promotion and Economic Diversification is to promote and finance actions that promote the promotion and internationalization of products and services of Canarian SMEs located in non-capital islands, promoting strategic sectors that diversify the economy.
In the previous edition, 105 applications were received and 94 projects were beneficiaries. 42 projects were for companies in Lanzarote, 35 for Fuerteventura, 12 for La Palma, 3 for the island of La Gomera and 2 for El Hierro.
The Vice President and Minister of Economy, Industry, Commerce and Self-Employed of the Government of the Canary Islands, Manuel Domínguez, pointed out that this call "reinforces the strategy of the Government of the Canary Islands regarding the demographic challenge of the islands, contributing to the development of non-capital islands, generating employment and working for the sustainability of the Archipelago."
The amount of the subsidy per project will be calculated by setting the percentage of 75% on the subsidized costs. The remaining 25% must be contributed by the company.
Among the expenses that can be subsidized are professional advice, promotional actions abroad (including the Iberian Peninsula), dissemination and foreign promotion material and expenses for implementation or foreign tenders.
The maximum amount of eligible expenditure per project will amount to 6,000 euros, that is, 4,500 euros of subsidy and 1,500 euros contributed by the company.
The minimum amount per project will be 3,000 euros, with a subsidy of 2,250 euros and the company's contribution of 750 euros.
