The Ministry of Economy, Knowledge and Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the Canary Islands Employment Service (SCE), increases by five million euros the subsidies for the promotion of self-employment up to a total of 20 million during 2022, with the aim of "attending to pending applications from new people registered in the special regimes for self-employment".
The resolution modifies the budget allocation of 15 million established at the beginning of the year for direct aid to unemployed people after establishing themselves with self-employment, after almost 14.4 million have already been allocated until mid-August among 2,209 files of self-employed workers.
The Government of the Canary Islands assures that since the beginning of 2020, the SCE has streamlined the administrative procedure for subsidies promoting self-employment through an exclusive telematic processing on its electronic headquarters, and weighs the various activities in the emerging sectors of the green and blue economies, in addition to the female population.
