The Cabildo of Lanzarote reports that the contracting process for the "New Employment Opportunities (NOE) 2025-2026" program is underway, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus and the island institution.

Through this program, 21 unemployed people will be hired for one year, full time, and through a traineeship contract. The initiative, subsidized by the Canarian Employment Service, will begin on October 16, 2025, under the coordination of the Employment Area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, led by the Minister of Training and Employment, Ascensión Toledo.

In the words of Ascensión Toledo, "from the Cabildo de Lanzarote we continue to bet on the creation of real employment opportunities for our qualified youth, because we understand that the talent that is formed on our island deserves to have the first work experience that facilitates their integration into the labor market." The program is aimed at unemployed people who are registered with the Canarian Employment Service and who have completed their regulated training in the last three years, or in the last five in the case of having a recognized disability. In addition, they must not have worked in a position related to the professional category of their academic training.

Among the qualifications that may be eligible for the program promoted by the Corporation chaired by Oswaldo Betancort are Bachelor of Law, Bachelor of Environmental Sciences, Senior Technician of Electrotechnical Systems and Automation, Senior Technician of Social Integration, or Senior Technician in Promotion of Gender Equality, among other profiles.

The program's main objective is to boost and increase the chances of employment for people with qualified training but without previous experience in positions suited to their professional profile.

To this end, beneficiaries will have the support of two tutors and a coordinator who will supervise the adaptation process, as well as internship managers in each department who will guide them in learning the corresponding tasks and functions.
