The platform Asamblea7Islas, which represents employees of the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS), reported this Friday that the Ministry of Health has decided to postpone the exams corresponding to the selection processes of the competitive and ordinary opposition until early 2026, affecting more than 75,000 candidates.

In a statement, the group, which brings together some 14,000 workers from more than 30 categories of healthcare and non-healthcare personnel, points out that this decision was made after a meeting with Ministry officials.

Asamblea7Islas considers that the postponement "brings certainty and peace of mind to thousands of candidates, many of them workers in the Canary Islands public health system, who can now plan their holidays and the Christmas period normally, without the anguish or uncertainty of a possible imminent call for exams".

The organization adds that this measure also avoids "unnecessary overload" in the Human Resources Unit, which has a significant workload due to the simultaneous management of several stabilization processes.

It also recalls that Human Resources services are working on the assessment of the fifth grade of professional career, a procedure that must take effect at the end of November with retroactive effects from January of this year.

Asamblea7Islas understands that the decision to postpone the selection tests will allow for more efficient management of the processes that are currently underway and pending completion, the note concludes.
