51% of respondents in the latest Island Issues Survey believe that **labor rights are little (43%) or not at all (8%) respected** on the island.

The data cannot be compared with last year's Survey, as the Cabildo had not asked this question for five years, specifically in the 2020 Island Topics Survey.

Then the opinion of the people of Lanzarote was considerably worse. Those who thought that labor rights are respected little were 53% and those who thought not at all were 24%

On the other hand, 43% believe that workers' rights are highly respected (14%) or quite respected (29%)

The majority believe that they are still the same as last year (54%), while those who think they have improved are 19%. Those who believe the situation of workers' rights has worsened are 26%.

On a scale of 1 to 10 points, respondents rated different labor rights. Respect for the agreed salary obtained a 5.6, while respect for leave and days off achieved a 4.9 and the length of the workday a 4.7.

Lanzarote residents believe that the sector where employees' rights are most respected is the public sector (6.8), followed by the administrative and financial sector (6.7).

Next is retail, which scores 5.2. The hospitality sector scores 4.5; other services 4.2; construction 4, restaurants and bars (3.8) and the primary sector (2.9).
