The Ministry of Education published this Monday the resolution calling for access to open employment lists for eleven new specialties and has processed the temporary suspension of another six that already have a sufficient volume of registrations.

Specifically, lists are opened in Music, in the teachers' corps; Spanish Language and Literature, French, and Mechanical Manufacturing Project Office, in the Secondary school teachers' corps; Artistic Drawing and Color and Photography, in the Plastic Arts and Design corps; Photography and Reproduction Processes, in the Master Craftsman of Plastic Arts and Design corps; and German, Arabic, and Chinese for Official Language Schools.

On the other hand, the Ministry will temporarily suspend the incorporation of new applicants in the specialties of Foreign Language: English and Special Education, and Therapeutic Pedagogy, of the teachers' corps; as well as Administrative Management Processes, Training and Labor Guidance, Business Administration, and Mathematics, of the Secondary Education teachers' corps.

The Director General of Personnel and Teacher Training, Mónica Ramírez, explains in a statement that both resolutions "allow adjusting the coverage of teaching positions on an interim basis to the real needs of the Canary Islands' educational system, making the procedure more agile and balanced".

"We continue to work," she adds, "to ensure that the substitution system functions with maximum efficiency, avoiding delays and guaranteeing that all centers have the necessary teaching staff at all times".

Since the implementation of the permanent open lists system, the Ministry of Education has received more than 35,000 applications, of which 20,840 have been admitted and incorporated into the employment lists.

Since the last call, published on October 24, 648 applications have been registered corresponding to thirteen other specialties, including Volume, Vehicle Maintenance, Industrial Chemistry and Analysis, or Agricultural Production Processes, which concentrated the majority of registrations.

Education emphasizes that "the opening and closing of lists is part of a context of strengthening the Canary Islands' educational system, which faces the year 2026 with the largest budgetary allocation in its history and sustained growth in teaching staff."
