The Canary Employment Service (SCE) has published the deadlines for the subsidies aimed at promoting the labor inclusion of unemployed people with disabilities for the 2026 fiscal year.

The initiative has a budget of 10.3 million euros, framed within the Strategic Subsidy Plan 2025-2027.

The fundamental objective is to boost the hiring of this group in both the ordinary and sheltered labor markets. For the Minister of Tourism and Employment, Jéssica de León, "this call reaffirms our commitment to the groups that find it most difficult to enter the labor market".

"Through these incentives, we are not only offering immediate employment opportunities but also equipping participants with real tools to improve their future employability," the councilor highlighted

The resolution contemplates various lines of action under direct concession. Through the ordinary market, incentives for indefinite hiring are provided with aid of 5,500 euros, which can rise to 6,000 euros if the hired person is a woman or over 45 years old. In cases of transition from Special Employment Centers to ordinary companies, the general subsidy is 7,500 euros, reaching 8,000 euros for the aforementioned priority groups

Likewise, allocations of up to 1,800 euros for workplace adaptation are included, taking into account each person's needs, or the elimination of architectural or communication barriers, for both ordinary companies and Special Employment Centers. In the field of sheltered employment, support for workers' wage costs is maintained, with amounts that can reach 55% of the current interprofessional minimum wage

The director of the Canary Islands Employment Service, María Teresa Ortega, explained that the application deadlines vary "depending on the measure adopted. For indefinite hiring and labor transitions, entities have three months from the start of the employment relationship; for workplace adaptation, the aid can be requested at any time during the hiring period."Ortega underscored the importance of digitalization, stating that "applications must be submitted exclusively through the SCE's electronic headquarters in order to streamline resources as much as possible and for entities to have access to these essential services throughout the year," he assured
