The Ministry of Tourism and Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the Canary Employment Service (SCE), has opened the call for subsidies for a total of fourteen million euros, intended to finance training plans primarily aimed at employed workers

These programs, funded with resources approved at the Sectoral Conference on Employment and Labor Affairs and from the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, will allow participants to expand their knowledge in different sectors, such as hospitality, commerce, metalworking, industry, transport, and healthcare, among others.

Training entities, whether public or private, that have facilities located in the autonomous community of the Canary Islands for the delivery of the requested training specialties may apply for this line of grants. The actions are aimed at responding to current labor market needs and allow for the obtainment of **professional certificates**.

"The permanent qualification of workers allows companies to be competitive and the forecast is that these training courses will benefit nearly thirty thousand working people on the islands," assured the Minister of Tourism and Employment, Jéssica de León. Furthermore, she highlighted that "continuous training is a tool for employed individuals to improve their employability, update their knowledge or specialize and, ultimately, advance in their professional goals."

In this regard, the training offer associated with these subsidies guarantees employed workers **training in sectoral and transversal skills.**
