The Port of Arrecife has increased its traffic by 6.59% in the first four months of the year and has reached 589,884 tons, according to data from the Port Authority of Las Palmas.
The five ports that make up the province have seen their total traffic increased by 9.22% between January and April 2024, with 10,166,626 tons. Of these, the Port of Las Palmas is the one with the best data, that is, an increase of 10.24% with 8,799,243 tons in the accumulated of the first four months of the year.
It is followed, in order, by the Port of Puerto del Rosario, with an increase of 9.25% and 466,702 tons; and the Port of Arrecife.
On the opposite side are the Port of Salinetas, which decreases its total traffic by -12.67%, with 233,102 tons; and the Port of Arinaga, with a decrease of -1.09% with 77,695 tons of total traffic.
The year-on-year variation of the first four months of 2024 compared to 2023 for the five ports of the Port Authority presents the following data in the main indicators:
Passenger traffic has grown by 5.47% (-4.24% in regular line and +10.94% in cruise); goods have also increased, by 8.6%, with 9,190,793 tons; tons of frozen fish: -3.14%, with 79,007 tons; tons of fresh fish: -19.49% with 157 tons; tons of fuel: +19.33% with 872,657 tons; TEU units: +12.96% with 431,811 units; tons of containerized general cargo: +15.50% with 4,780,997 tons; Ro-Ro traffic units: +2.47% with 121,616 units; and tons of Ro-Ro traffic: +7.03% with 1,642,777 tons.
For the Port of Las Palmas, the year-on-year variation between January and April of 2023 and 2024, reflects the following data in the main indicators:
Passenger traffic: +2.56% (-4.50% in regular line and +10.11% in cruise); tons of goods: +9.50% with 7,841,401 tons; tons of frozen fish: -1.57% with 76,094 tons; tons of fresh fish: -89.80% with 5 tons; tons of fuel: +19.40% with 869,811 tons; TEU units: +13.67% with 396,886 TEUS; tons of containerized general cargo: +16.12% with 3,876,817 tons, Ro-Ro traffic units: +2.38% with 83,624; and tons of Ro-Ro traffic: +6.53% with 1,164,523 tons.
