The British tour operator Thomas Cook will incorporate a new weekly flight to Lanzarote from August with a capacity of 300 seats. The decision taken by the airline is the result of the agreement signed between the Tourism Board and the Foreign Promotion Society with the British tour operator.
The promotional actions have consisted of inserting advertisements in the main British newspapers, campaigns on the Thomas Cook website and designing and placing posters and flyers in the retail network.
This work of spreading the "Lanzarote" brand has made it possible to boost the sale of tourist packages, thanks also to the collaboration of the island's accommodation establishments.
The increase in reservations as a consequence of this campaign has led Thomas Cook, considered the most important operator in Europe together with the TUI group, to incorporate an Airbus 330 with more than 300 seats, which will mean an increase in the volume of tourists that this company brings to the island.
The head of the Tourism Board, Carlos Espino, has expressed his intention to continue working with tour operators and airlines to maintain the island's connectivity with the main tourist markets.
"This agreement is the result of the enormous promotional effort made in recent months and a campaign based on a multiplicity of formats. Undoubtedly, it shows us an optimistic path that we hope will lead us to improve the figures for the summer," he said.
