Lanzarote's Business Incubator will have fiber optics

The first business incubator in Lanzarote, which will be located in the Business Innovation Center of the Chamber of Commerce, will have fiber optics and will open its doors at the beginning of 2013.

Fiber optics is a transmission medium commonly used in data networks, which allows first-class connection speeds with multiple uses such as the transmission of large data packets between long distances. "It is a great attraction for companies based on technology and communication," they say from the Chamber.

In the words of its president, José Torres Fuentes, "this fact opens up multiple possibilities for business projects from the Peninsula and international projects, which are thinking of the Canary Islands for the tax advantages offered by the islands and for the quality of life of our Archipelago to live and work".

Interesting tax advantages

The Economic and Fiscal Regime of the Canary Islands (REF) contains a series of tax incentives related to the creation and development of business activity. It is worth mentioning the Canary Special Zone (ZEC), which has very attractive incentives such as advantages in Corporation Tax, exemption in the IGIC for the provision of services between ZEC entities or multiple exemptions in indirect taxation, among other deductions and bonuses.

"These advantages are a great attraction for companies or projects of foreign and peninsular capital," they emphasize from the Chamber. "If we add to this the advantages of the climate and quality of life, Lanzarote and the Canary Islands are positioned as authentic paradises for investment and the development of projects that do not need to be located in large urban areas," they add.

In this sense, the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote intends to attract the interest of projects that also serve as "driving companies of other activities", that is, companies with the capacity to drive that generate economy around, favoring the economic growth of their environment, through the contracting of services and the stimulation of new sectors that need to be nourished.
