The harvest will officially start this Friday in Lanzarote. Bodegas El Grifo will open the first season corresponding to 2014, whose first batches of grapes will be used for the production of Malvasía Brut. The bulk of the Lanzarote harvest will not begin until next week.
Although it is still early to make forecasts of figures, the Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin Vinos de Lanzarote does estimate at least a harvest equal to the previous campaign, which was around 2,200,000 kilos of grapes, and even "slightly higher", according to a statement.
Despite the climatic conditions throughout the year, with scarce rainfall and the presence of mists, the Regulatory Council has highlighted that the sanitary condition of the grape "is very good for the production of quality wines".
