The Government of the Canary Islands approves aid for the guilds of La Tiñosa, Playa Blanca and San Ginés

A total of 23 guilds of the archipelago have until November 10 to make the presented projects effective

A total of 242,791 euros in aid will be used to cover the equipment expenses of 23 fishermen's associations, their federations and sea cooperatives in the archipelago. Among them are those of the Lanzarote associations La Tiñosa, Playa Blanca and San Ginés.

The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands, Alicia Vanoostende, has highlighted that these aids aim to "allow these organizations to improve their management equipment, adapt the areas of first sale of seafood to European regulations, and acquire elements for the transport of fishery products, industrial machinery and improvements to the social equipment of the entities".

Another 20 applications have been approved in the rest of the Canary Islands. The guilds of Nuestra Señora de los Reyes, Pesca Restinga, for El Hierro; Agaete, Arguineguín, Castillo del Romeral, Pescatobal, Playa de Melenara Marineros and Playa de Mogán, for Gran Canaria; Nuestra Señora del Carmen, for La Gomera; Nuestra Señora de Las Nieves and Nuestra Señora del Carmen, for La Palma; Gran Poder de Dios, Nuestra Señora de la Consolación, Nuestra Señora de la Luz, San Andrés, San Miguel de Tajao, San Roque e Isla Baja and the Provincial Federation of Guilds of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and the La Graciosa cooperative, for the eighth island.

The subsidized entities will have until November 10 to make the project for which they have requested the aid effective, and until the 24th of the same month to justify the investment.
