The central and Canarian governments will seek formulas so that the islands can participate in the management of their airports, according to what was agreed this Tuesday morning by the deputy of the Canarian Coalition, Cristina Valido, and the Secretary of State for Relations with the Courts, Rafael Simancas.

Both met this morning in Congress, and the CC deputy pointed out after the meeting that they have agreed that the Ministry of Territorial Policy should look for "the appropriate body so that the islands can be part of the decisions that are made in airport matters."

In the meeting, Valido pointed out that they have made progress on issues such as the participation of the Canarian Government in the management of airports, because, "as you know, we are having important problems both in the passport controls of Tenerife South and in other islands due to lack of personnel."

"We cannot allow our airports to experience this type of situation because tourism is very important to us and it is our image to the world," he added.

The flexibility in the fiscal rules for some administrations of the island of La Palma or the "immediate entry of the 50 million for the care of immigrant minors that we had not received and that we hope will occur in the next few days" have been other issues addressed.

Other topics addressed in the meeting have been related to agriculture, together with the development of works "very important in terms of water that our land needs", transport or the transfer of powers in sports matters.

Valido has lamented the difficult political panorama and has expressed her willingness to maintain the attention of politics "on the issues that truly interest the Canarians and the Canary Islands."
