Centros de Arte, Cultura y Turismo have published the competition rules to acquire rustic plots for agricultural use in the surroundings of Jardín de Cactus, under a multiple award regime.

According to what was reported on Tuesday afternoon, this public call aims to provide the center with an annexed area intended for the production of replacement specimens, their acclimatization to the territory, and the prior development of the species.

A strategic plant reserve

Likewise, it will allow the creation of a strategic plant reserve and reinforce conservation and maintenance efforts. In addition, it will facilitate technical autonomy in the plant management of the space, a greater capacity for botanical planning, and the plant sustainability of the center in the medium and long term.

“We want to guarantee the durability and the best possible future for one of the most original spaces of the Manrique Universe,” explained the counselor of the Tourist Centers, Ángel Vázquez.

Meanwhile, the Centers have pointed out that the initiative does not intend to expand the visitable space nor the implementation of greenhouses or other similar infrastructures. The total maximum budget is 115,000 euros and the offered plots must have a minimum surface area of 1,000 m².

Presentation of the proposals in the offices of the Centers

Offers must be submitted at the General Registry of the offices of the Tourist Centers, at number 71 of the Arrecife to San Bartolomé road, from 09:00 to 14:00 hours, or via certified postal mail to the aforementioned address.

In the first case, proposals must be submitted in two sealed envelopes duly identified and signed by the interested party or legal representative. The denomination "Open call proposal for the acquisition of properties or plots by EPEL-CACT" must appear (as detailed in clauses 6 and 7 of the terms).

Offers may be submitted until 30 calendar days after the publication of the call.

Award system

The procedure contemplates a multiple award system that will allow acquiring one or several plots based on the offers submitted. These will be evaluated according to technical and economic criteria.

The offers will be ordered according to their score, with the entity being able to acquire several plots within the limit of the available budget.

With this initiative, the Centers have insisted that they promote "their commitment to the conservation and sustainable management of the Cactus Garden".
