The Lanzarote Business Confederation (CEL) and the Cabildo of Lanzarote are strengthening their support for companies with the launch of three new projects that will contribute to reviving economic and social development on the island.

The president of the CEL, Beatriz Salazar, thanked the Cabildo of Lanzarote for its support, and especially its vice president and councilor for Planning and Projects, Jacobo Medina, for promoting these plans that will result in the strengthening of the island's productive sectors and in which the Confederation is already working.

Salazar detailed each of these projects aimed at enhancing the resources of the island's business fabric to strengthen its competitiveness and growth in a sustainable way.

Implementation of Dual Vocational Training

The first of these, on which the CEL is already working, aims to promote the participation of companies, especially SMEs, in Dual Vocational Training. “We want to articulate the mechanisms that are necessary so that companies can face the incorporation of students in training with full guarantees of efficiency and effectiveness,” he assured.

In this regard, he recalled the benefits of this educational modality, both for students and for entrepreneurs, “since it puts the student in contact with the reality of each of the companies, contributing to a more professional training that responds to the demands of entrepreneurs and their own clients.”

Digitization, Innovation and Sustainability Service

The second project focuses on digitization, innovation and sustainability, as a strategy to, among other aspects, improve the productivity of companies and workers. “From the creation of this service, we want to provide added value, thanks to the innovation of the processes of products and services,” explained Beatriz Salazar.

“In this way, we will help companies to operate in the digital environment. from which we can no longer remain oblivious, and which implies, in parallel, benefits for sustainability and the environment,” he said. We want to provide them with the necessary tools so that they can face the digital transformation effectively,” confirmed the president.

Employment and Shadow Economy Observatory

Likewise, she announced that the CEL is working on the creation of an Employment Observatory, with the aim of drawing a map of the current situation, trends and training needs of the labor market in the country.

For Salazar, this tool will contribute to the creation of quality jobs while responding to the current and near future demands of companies and especially SMEs.

“It is key to understand the situation of the business fabric of Lanzarote because it is the only way to be able to give an effective response to its needs, with the aim that our SMEs do not lose competitiveness,” explains Salazar. “For this reason, we believe that this project is of utmost interest to all agents involved in the economic development of the island, which will result in greater wealth for the citizens,” he nuanced.

Finally, Salazar reminded companies interested in obtaining more information about the launch of these projects to go to the CEL to receive the advice they need.
