The Official College of Economists of Las Palmas held the Board of Governors on April 7, in which the appointment of Sergio Vicente Plata Romero as vice-dean in Lanzarote was carried out, replacing Manuel Juan Viera Ramírez.

Sergio Plata has a degree in Economics from the University of La Laguna and works as an economist. For his part, Manuel Juan Viera Ramírez, who works as an economist and tax advisor, has served as vice-dean in Lanzarote for the last five years.

For Plata Romero, this "is a great opportunity to carry out valuable activities that have an impact on the dynamics of the College in Lanzarote, and, by extension, that help the society of Lanzarote from our activity as economists and experts."

For his part, the outgoing vice-dean has expressed that he "passes the baton" to his colleague "with the certainty that, on the existing basis, it will be possible to increase membership and open up new challenges."

"During the period that I have served as vice-dean, we have managed to activate the participation of members on the island, improved institutional relations and, no less important, we have approached society with activities of interest to them and with our active participation in the media," defended Manuel Juan Viera.

For the dean of the College of Economists of Las Palmas, Alcibiades Trancho Lemes, "both the work of the outgoing vice-dean and the work that the new vice-dean will carry out, has contributed and will contribute to the growth of the College and the improvement of our services to the members of Lanzarote."
