In the extra-hotel segment, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Arona and Mogán lead these positions, where Tías occupies the fourth position.
"The tourist modernization of Puerto del Carmen is contributing"
The Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Tourism of the Tías City Council, Amado Jesús Vizcaíno, has stressed that "these data confirm that the tourist modernization of Puerto del Carmen is contributing to the destination remaining in high demand by Spanish and foreign tourists" and "one of the tourist destinations in Spain with the best indicators of occupancy, overnight stays and job creation".
"Puerto del Carmen, considered one of the mature tourist areas in the Canary Islands, is witnessing in recent years its relaunch as a result of the modernization, launched by the business sector, with the collaboration and investment of the plans of the Tías City Council in the improvement of public spaces", added the Deputy Mayor of the municipality.
In addition, Vizcaíno stressed that "at present there are actions underway or planned for a value close to 100 million euros, together with investments in the rehabilitation of complexes and shopping centers, and the new works of the Tías City Council with other public administrations." And he also stressed that "the entire coastline of beaches of Puerto del Carmen has blue flags, becoming the tourist town in the Canary Islands with the most blue flags, 4 in total".
