Lanzarote will receive 14 million to modernize its irrigation system

The funds come from the EU's Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and have been authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture

Lanzarote will receive 14 million euros for modernization and consolidation works on the irrigation systems of the island's Water Consortium. This allocation is the largest among the five agreements signed for the modernization of irrigation systems in the archipelago for a total amount of 49.3 million euros.

The funds come from phase two of the EU's Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and will be channeled by the Ministry of Agriculture, through the State Mercantile Society of Agricultural Infrastructures.

Apart from the one referring to Lanzarote, the other four agreements focus on Fuerteventura, Tenerife (2 agreements) and La Palma.

13.2 million euros are authorized for the modernization and consolidation works of the irrigation systems of the Water Supply Consortium of Fuerteventura.

Tenerife reservoirs will receive 9.5 and 8.4 million euros, for each of the two agreements authorized by the Ministry. The Water Irrigation Community of the Santa Cruz de La Palma-Breñas-Mazo region will receive 3.9 million.
