Lanzarote's vacation rentals generate 243.9 million euros in 2024, 25% of what hotels invoice

According to data collected in the Lanzarote in Figures 2024 report, the island had 100,497 tourist places between vacation rentals and conventional beds

Lanzarote received more tourists than ever last year. Throughout 2024, 3.4 million travelers stayed on the island, in addition to the nearly 600,000 cruise passengers who disembarked in its ports. With this data, vacation rentals generated 243.9 million euros in Lanzarote throughout last year 2024. In contrast, the income from other tourist accommodations (hotels and non-hotel) grew to 972.3 million euros.

According to data collected in the report Lanzarote in Figures 2024, the island had 35,706 tourist places distributed in 7,706 vacation rentals that were available for rent throughout last year. However, the ones actually registered in the General Tourist Registry were hundreds more. Meanwhile, the 197 hotels and apartments open in 2024 offered 64,791 places and accommodated a total of 2.5 million travelers.

According to this same source, vacation rental tourists stayed an average of 4.8 days, with an average rate of 174.1 euros per night. In contrast, tourist accommodations, excluding vacation rentals, had an average rate of 117.9 euros and an occupancy rate of 85.2% throughout the year.
