The vehicles registered in Lanzarote increased by 573 cars in June compared to the same month last year, a growth of 93%, which represents a total of 1,147 new cars registered on the island during this last month alone.
So far this year, 3,207 new vehicles have been registered, which translates into a year-on-year variation compared to 2023 of 13%. The number of cars that were registered last year was 2,841.
By municipalities, San Bartolomé concentrated the highest number of registrations in June with 372 vehicles, which gives an idea that a good part of the new acquisitions will be dedicated to vehicle rental at the airport. Closely followed by Yaiza with 353. Arrecife occupies the third position with 138 new cars registered.
For its part, Tías registered 122 cars last month and Teguise 84. In contrast, the municipalities of Tinajo and Haría accounted for 69 and 9 cars, respectively.
The types of vehicles that were most registered were passenger cars with a total of 1,040 and, far behind, motorcycles, with 38 new ones. Finally, 35 adaptable mixed vehicles were also registered. The rest is completed by vans, trucks, motorhomes, mopeds, all-terrain vehicles and special vehicles.
