Lanzarote is the most polarized island when opining on the Spanish economy

Among all the Canary Islands, Lanzarote registers at the same time the highest percentage of people with a negative opinion about the Spanish economy, as well as citizens who think quite the opposite.

The GDP of the Canary Islands grows above 10%

37.2% of Lanzarote residents believe that the Spanish economy is doing badly or very badly. This is the highest percentage in the entire Canary Islands, according to the latest Sociobarometer of the Canary Islands published in November.

At the same time, Lanzarote reaches the highest percentage in the archipelago in the number of citizens who believe that the country's economy is doing well or very well. They are 23.3%.

Lanzarote is, therefore, the Canary Island where there is the greatest polarization regarding the diagnosis of the economic situation in Spain.

To understand the phenomenon, it is important to observe the number of people who consider the Spanish economy to be doing regularly, since, if in most of the islands this option was chosen by half of the population, in Lanzarote it only reaches 35%.

The opinion of Lanzarote residents on the Canary Islands economy, on the other hand, is more aligned with the vision from the rest of the islands. In Lanzarote, almost 28% of the population believes that the economy is doing badly or very badly in the archipelago, when the Canary Islands average is 26.1%.

Lanzarote residents who think that the Canary Islands economy is doing well or very well are 19.6% of the population. The Canary Islands average is 22%.
