Lanzarote airport received more than 700,000 passengers in July

The César Manrique airport in Lanzarote received a total of 735,477 passengers during the past month of July, which represents an increase in the number of arrivals compared to the same month last year of 5.8%

In total, the airports of Canary Islands received more than four million passengers in July, 5.1% more than those who arrived in the same month of 2022. 

Of the total number of travelers registered, 4,061,966 correspond to passengers on commercial flights. Of these, 2,167,557 traveled on international flights (4.8% more than in July 2022) and 1,894,409 did so on domestic routes (5.4% more than in the same month last year).

In July, 37,432 aircraft movements were managed, which means exceeding the 2022 data by 5.1%. In addition, 2,503 tons of merchandise were transported, an increase of 8.4% compared to the same month last year.

 

Tenerife South records the largest increase in arrivals


By islands, the Gran Canaria airport registered the highest number of passengers in this seventh month of the year in the Canary Islands, with a total of 1,139,338 travelers, representing an increase of 6.7% over the same month of 2022. 

It is followed by the airports of Tenerife South, with 948,893 passengers and an increase of 7.9% compared to 2022, and Tenerife North-Ciudad de La Laguna, with 575,643 (+5.4%).

After Lanzarote, the Fuerteventura airport registered 521,450 travelers (-0.9%); La Palma, with 124,364 (-8.5%), El Hierro, with 31,027 (+11.5%) and La Gomera, with 11,824 (+4.3%).

More than 27 million passengers so far this year

Canarian airports registered 27,541,757 passengers so far this year, exceeding the accumulated data from January to July 2022 by 15.8%.

Of that total figure, 27,261,519 were travelers on commercial flights, of which 16,059,987 correspond to passengers on international flights (16.2% more than in 2022) and 11,201,532 to passengers on domestic flights (15.1% more than last year).

Until July inclusive, 247,931 aircraft movements were managed, 9.2% more than in 2022. In addition, 17,438 tons of merchandise were transported, 4.8% less than in January-July 2022.
