Lanzarote airport exceeds 6 million arrivals until September

The figure represents an increase of 13.2% in the number of travelers compared to last year's data.

Passengers at César Manrique Airport

Until last September, more than 6 million travelers had arrived at the César Manrique airport this year, specifically 6,099,265 people, which represents an increase of 13.2% compared to last year.

In September alone, 668,707 passengers were recorded, 6% more than those who arrived in the same period of 2022.

Overall, the Canary Islands airports registered 35,441,595 passengers so far this year, exceeding the data from January to September 2022 by 13.1%.

Of the total number of travelers, 35,121,131 correspond to commercial passengers, of which 20,282,993 traveled on international flights, 13.5% more than in 2022, and 14,838,138 did so on domestic flights, 12.8% more.

Until September, 321,665 aircraft movements were managed, 9% more than in 2022. In addition, 22,477 tons of merchandise were transported, which represents 3.4% less compared to the accumulated of last year.

By airports, Gran Canaria registered 10,127,017 passengers, which represents 14.9% more than in the accumulated of 2022.
It is followed by Tenerife South Airport, which with 8,882,215 passengers accounts for an increase of 15.3%.

After the Lanzarote airport, the fourth in arrivals was Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de La Laguna, with 4,573,879 (+11.9%); Fuerteventura, with 4,441,530 (+7.9%); La Palma, with 1,006,652 (+6%), El Hierro, with 226,266 (+11.3%) and La Gomera, with 84,771 passengers, where the largest percentage growth is recorded with an increase of 20.4% compared to the same period of 2022.
