La Caixa's social bank finances 84 projects in Lanzarote

Most of this type of financing was dedicated to family microcredits for groups on the island with few resources

MicroBank, CaixaBank's social bank, granted financing with social impact for more than 900,000 euros in Lanzarote in 2022. In total, the entity formalized 84 operations last year on the island in microcredits for families and entrepreneurs, and loans to social enterprises.

The most prominent activity segment was that of family microcredits, which seek to address specific needs of groups with few resources, with 64 operations in the Canary Islands worth 607,000 euros.

The chapter on microcredits for the start-up or consolidation of businesses supported 17 initiatives in Lanzarote last year for an amount of 194,000 euros.

The third major area of activity of MicroBank, relating to specific lines for sectors with social impact, helped to materialize 3 projects in Lanzarote worth 109,000 euros.

In the Canary Islands as a whole, Micro Bank's financing was 63.3 million euros in 2022. In total, the entity formalized 7,399 operations last year in the islands between microcredits for families and entrepreneurs, and loans to social enterprises.
