Coinciding with the elimination of 400,000 Ryanair seats for the Canary Islands, Iberia Express has announced a reinforcement of its winter operations in the archipelago, which does not solve the matter, but helps.
There will be 30,000 more seats than planned so far thanks to the fact that it has scheduled 116 extra flights and more than 150 gauge changes of the aircraft with which it operates these routes, passing them to A321neo aircraft, to increase the number of seats available.
In the case of the Lanzarote airport, Iberia Express has scheduled 14 additional flights and 28 gauge increases, which is equivalent to 3,800 more seats for this winter up to a total of 134,000 seats.
The reinforcement is mainly for Tenerife North, one of the airports most affected by Ryanair's decision, where Iberia Express will offer 15,000 more seats. In Tenerife South, there will be an additional 850.
In Gran Canaria, connectivity has been reinforced with almost 8,300 additional seats, between the gauge increases and the 42 additional flights, reaching up to 10 daily frequencies with Madrid.
The airline has also increased its capacity in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and La Palma with 4,500 additional seats.
In addition to reinforcing its capacity with the Canary Islands, Iberia Express launches the Express Days, to stimulate the market between the Canary Islands and Madrid after the peak summer months.
Thus, residents of Lanzarote can find direct flights to Madrid from 15 euros if they are members of the airline's Express Club.
Reservations can be made until September 22 to travel from October 1, 2025 to June 11, 2026.
