Hundreds of flights canceled from Italy this Friday due to the transport strike

The general strike of transport workers in Italy has caused the cancellation of hundreds of flights this Friday, with the exception of those that departed between 7 and 10 in the morning, and those that will depart from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Italy has 15 weekly air frequencies with Lanzarote and 3 of them occur on Fridays, 2 with Milan and 1 with Bologna.

The unions denounce that the proposed salary increases are not sufficient and that, in addition, part of it goes in favor of private social security and health institutions.

The greatest inconvenience for passengers is occurring especially in northern airports, such as Milan, Bergamo, Venice and Verona, but also in Florence and Pisa.

60 and 20 flights have already been canceled respectively at the Milanese airports of Malpensa and Linate. At the Marco Polo in Venice there have been 65 flights, in Florence 40, which represent 50% of the total, while in Pisa 25%.

As for other airports, in Catania 12 flights have been canceled and another 8 have been rescheduled due to "delays", while in Palermo there were two flights canceled

In the airports of Apulia there were nine cancellations: 4 in Bari and 5 in Brindisi.
