Starting this Friday, December 19, each Chamber of Commerce must proceed with the public exhibition of its electoral roll, with the aim that all companies and self-employed workers can verify that their data is complete and correct for the future submission of candidacies and the eventual holding of elections.
This was indicated by the Official State Gazette on December 4 through the Order of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprise declaring open the electoral process for the renewal of the Plenary Sessions of the Official Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation throughout Spain.
This Ministerial Order represents the first step in the electoral process and marks the beginning of the procedures that will culminate in the renewal of the plenaries of the Chambers of Commerce.
In this regard, the Lanzarote and La Graciosa Chamber of Commerce has enabled an online inquiry system through its website, where each company or self-employed person can access their **electoral data** individually.
The period for the public exhibition of the census will end on January 8. If errors or omissions are detected in the data, companies and self-employed individuals may submit the corresponding claim following the model and instructions available on the same consultation website. The deadline for submitting census claims will remain open until January 22
Once the public exhibition and review phase of the electoral roll is completed, the Government of the Canary Islands, as the supervisory body of the Chambers of Commerce of the Canary Islands, will be responsible for publishing the resolution calling for elections, which will set the deadlines for the submission of candidacies and the date of the votes.
The previous electoral process began in October 2021 and concluded in June 2022 in the Canary Islands. In this new call, a similar calendar is foreseen, so the renewal process of the Plenary Sessions of the Chambers of Commerce of the Canary Islands could be completed in the second quarter of 2026.
