The Ministry of Ecological Transition of the Government of the Canary Islands will open this Tuesday, June 21, the deadline for submitting applications for the call for subsidies valued at 4.7 million euros for improving energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies in companies and residential buildings.
This is an action specifically aimed at achieving a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions in both companies and the residential sector, for which 4,710,754.45 euros have been allocated in subsidies co-financed with the European FEDER Fund within the framework of the Canary Islands Operational Program.
The regional minister, José Antonio Valbuena, has detailed that this call aims to "give a further boost to facilitate the energy transition in the Canary Islands, as it allows granting direct aid to both entrepreneurs and the residential sector to carry out actions to improve energy efficiency or to favor the use of renewable sources".
Valbuena points out that almost four million euros (3,910,754.45 euros) will be allocated to the business sector, with 400,000 corresponding to the line of technology improvement in equipment and industrial processes; 800,000 to energy efficiency measures in buildings and 2,710,754.45 euros to renewable energies for electricity production in buildings, infrastructures and facilities. Regarding the residential sector, it is planned to grant aid worth 800,000 euros.
The deadline for submitting applications will begin this Tuesday, June 21 and will last for one month, until July 21, 2022, establishing as beneficiaries companies, regardless of their size, and homeowners, communities of owners and associations of owners.
The submission of applications for these aids, whose importance lies in the objective of improving the energy efficiency of companies, buildings, homes and premises, both in the case of legal and natural persons, must be made, from the date indicated above, through the electronic headquarters of the Public Administration of the Canary Islands.
However, people who do not have the means for electronic processing may submit their application by completing form Annex II of the regulatory bases, available at the electronic headquarters of the General Directorate of Energy, which can be printed, signed and submitted in paper format at the offices of assistance in registration matters, intended to digitize the paper documents submitted by individuals.
