CaixaBank and the Association for Rural and Fisheries Development of Lanzarote (ADERLAN) presented this Tuesday at the Arrecife Civic Center the awards of the third edition of the Land of Opportunities 2025 contest, which has distinguished four entrepreneurial projects from the rural environment of Lanzarote, located in Conil, Mácher, Villa de Teguise and Tinajo.

This initiative is promoted by CaixaBank for all of Spain and seeks to reinforce its commitment to entrepreneurship in rural areas through collaboration with Rural Development Groups.

One of the winners in Lanzarote has been Bodega Mota, from the entrepreneur Samuel González, an artisan winery in Conil with local identity that combines the production of wines with wine tourism visits.

Lanzarote Honeybees, by Selina Katharina Vogel, an ecotourism experience in Mácher that connects people with nature through the world of bees, has also been awarded.

Likewise, the business Batatas Arrugaditas y Harina, by Karliana José Aguilera in La Villa, was also awarded. This is an innovative project that values the local sweet potato through its transformation.

Finally, Marco Padrón Buis, a young farmer from Tinajo and producer of zero kilometer food, who is committed to selling in local stores and represents the interest of the new generations in the agricultural sector, was also awarded.

The event was attended by Enrique Sánchez, Business Area Director of CaixaBank in Lanzarote; Santiago Padín, president of ADERLAN; Mónica Acosta, Social Action technician of CaixaBank in the Canary Islands; and Mercedes Robayna, manager of ADERLAN.

The projects have been selected by a technical committee formed by representatives of CaixaBank and ADERLAN, assessing aspects such as viability, job creation capacity, growth potential, innovation and sustainability.

The four winners will participate in the national training contest "The Challenge of Land of Opportunities", promoted by CaixaBank in collaboration with the social company Rural Talent, where they will face three challenges together with more than 180 entrepreneurs from all over the country.

The 20 best classified will access the national final, with new recognitions, economic prizes and personalized mentoring programs.

Training and support

The award ceremony was part of the training "Brand Storytelling: how to connect with your audience", taught between September 16 and 19 at the Arrecife Civic Center by Helena Colomé and Gladys Becerra, from the company DML Digital Marketing Lanzarote.

The course focuses on improving the communication skills of rural and fishing entrepreneurs on the island, helping them identify their ideal client and connect effectively with their audience.

The Land of Opportunities program is an initiative of CaixaBank Social Action aimed at supporting entrepreneurship in rural areas, creating employment and contributing to fixing population in the territories. It is developed in collaboration with the Rural Development Groups of all Spain, who know in depth the needs of their environment, and has the participation of Rural Talent in the training part.

In addition, the program is complemented by the involvement of CaixaBank Volunteering, MicroBank and AgroBank in accompaniment, mentoring and financing actions.
