Bankia completes the closure of several offices in Lanzarote

Bankia has completed this Friday the closure of several offices in Lanzarote to "follow the profitability criteria imposed by Brussels", they say. From the entity they have indicated to La Voz that five offices have been closed on the island, although the truth is that there would be at least six.

According to Bankia, this Friday the branches of Playa Honda and Guatiza have closed, as well as an office in Puerto del Carmen, another in Playa Blanca and one more in Arrecife. However, in the capital, La Voz has been able to verify the closure of two branches: one in Argana Alta and another in José Antonio street.

The entity indicates that citizens affected by this closure will be able to go to other offices in the same municipality, which will remain open, although for this they will suffer the inconvenience of having to travel further to withdraw money or carry out any banking procedure.

The one that will remain open is the office of La Graciosa, after the claims of the City Council of Teguise, the Cabildo and the neighbors, who even demonstrated to ensure that the branch was not closed. And the inhabitants of La Graciosa feared having to travel to Lanzarote to carry out their banking transactions.

In the whole of the Canary Islands, the bank has closed 54 offices.
