The OUI Madrid venue, in the Palacio de los Deportes, was the setting for the promotional event with which Turismo Lanzarote presented the main lines of the two products European Sports Destination and Saborea Lanzarote to tour operators and agents from the tourism sector gathered at Fitur. The manager of Turismo Lanzarote, Héctor Fernández, praised the sports product and Lanzarote as "an open-air sports center all year round".
David Cachón, two-time world bike trial champion, greeted those present in a video in which he narrated in the first person the recent experience he has enjoyed in Lanzarote. On the island he has been able to get on his bicycle and "dance on the track of Jameos del Agua, visit the bowels of the earth in the Cueva de los Verdes or challenge the volcano in the Montañas del Fuego", according to the Cabildo.
Another promotional video with "impactful images" of the more than 30 sports competitions gave way to the presentation of the enogastronomic product Saborea Lanzarote. The well-known chef from the La Cascada del Puerto restaurant and his colleague Luis León were responsible for showing the nearly one hundred professionals who attended the event "the richness of a program that rescues the best of the products of the Lanzarote countryside and sea to turn them into a meeting point and tourist interest".
"Saborea Lanzarote tries to reach the tourist and the visitor, but also the resident, showing something more than a plate of food. Each creation of our chefs is part of the history of the island. Each tapa, a tribute to the landscapes of the island", they pointed out from Turismo Lanzarote.
For her part, "the prestigious and renowned" sumellier Cristina Alcalá reviewed the wines of Lanzarote, which she defined as being of excellent quality. The promotional video of the Wine Run, an athletic event that runs through the landscapes of La Geria, in which, precisely, the European Sports Destination and Saborea Lanzarote products go hand in hand, was "the brilliant culmination of a simple evening with which it is intended to publicize the products that should be repositioned in the markets", according to the Cabildo.
