The opening speech by Carmen Gloria Brito, a resident of the Titerroy neighborhood, marked the beginning of the patron saint festivities in honor of San José Obrero. Afterwards, the Titerroy Folklore Workshop School performed and a charity lottery was held at the Tite Sports Club.

The celebrations will take place throughout the week, until May 1st, the big day of the festivities.

The program includes, among many other activities, a Folk Festival, on April 30 at 9:30 p.m., with performances by Los Campesinos and the Guagime group; an anti-crisis flea market enlivened by the Los Labradores de Lanzarote parranda, on Saturday the 27th, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; the VIII Titerroy Song Festival, that same day at 9:30 p.m. or the drag queen gala on Sunday the 28th at 9:30 p.m.

At 11:30 a.m. on May 1st, the solemn Mass and procession will take place with the image of San José Obrero through the streets of Titerroy.

In addition, the program is completed with a wide range of sports activities, among which the classic 24 Hours of San José Obrero Handball tournament stands out, which is celebrating its XXXVIII edition this year. The event will be held on May 4 and 5.

The Councilor for Festivities, Víctor Sanginés, has expressed his satisfaction because, despite the economic cuts, "the Titerroy Festivities Commission has organized worthy, quality, participatory patron saint celebrations designed for the tastes of all the residents of the neighborhood".
