The Punta Grande plant received yesterday the visit of the firefighters of the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote, in an intense session that brought them closer to the facility, the main electricity production center of the island, and where they could learn about the safety and environmental measures maintained by the plant, as well as the characteristics of the main elements for its operation.

Led by the head of the plant, Manuel Rubias, and the head of Security, Isaac Tejera, and accompanied also by the Operations team, the fire department toured the engine room and the control room, the fuel storage area and were able to learn in detail about the fire protection systems and the safety measures provided for in the facility's Emergency Plan.

Within the framework of continuous training in safety and prevention, Endesa collaborates with the Fire Departments of the islands in emergency drills and technical conferences, which include guided tours of electrical facilities.

The objective of these joint actions is, in addition to promoting mutual knowledge, to update protocols and guidelines for behavior in the intervention of potential emergencies in the environment of energy production facilities and other vital infrastructures for the electricity supply in the archipelago.
